Fengxian-Zhuang was invented by the famous geisha Xiao Feng Xian and soon became trendy amongthe upper class of women during the early years of Republican China (1911-1949). The suit is characterized by being of two pieces with the top retains the style of a cheongsam and matched with a long skirt or pants for more freedom of movement.
